Welcome to my site.
Born in Ottawa Canada on September 5th 1958 and I love my hometown because I seperate it from the politics. It's a great city with wonderful people. Much like the rest of Canada.
On October 13th of last year, I became a free man. After decades of working minimum wage jobs, most of which I hated, across many small towns just so I could do photography, I was able to retire. Maybe now I can be a photographer?
It's been over 35 years of taking photographs, some exhibited, some published and some sold. Some even copied. Although right now you see just faces, my photographs extend also to many other areas. There are hundreds and hundreds not seen here. Maybe someday.
I have taught but mostly learned and loved my real passion, photography.
It's funny how a simple tool such as a camera can open up an entire universe. I have my former wife to thank for that. To me, if there's a God, I think that he reveals himself the most when I have a camera in my hands.
When Covid came in March 2020 that's when I realized that I was blind in my left eye from something called "Macular Degeneration". To make things worse, it was also in my right eye but hadn't done any damage yet. This was the start of endless eye injections and the end of my photography. To me, the horror in all of this is NO ONE shared with the public, ALL Canadians, what Macular Degeneration is and that they should be able to ask to have that checked for. Many people including myself went blind because of lack of information and an assumption that it was probably cataracts. The joke is that I do have cataracts in both eyes also and I'm playing the waiting game.
So if you're over 40, NO MATTER WHAT, ask that they check for Macular Degeneration.
